Hello, my name is Stuart Duncan. I hope you like my art and photography work. Making handmade cards from my images is a passion I have and it gives me endless pleasure to craft and share my art in this way.
The idea for Handmadecards came about during lock-down from the covid19 virus pandemic period back in March 2020.
With time more on my hands (and a need to do something to keep the mind active) it struck me that I could do something with all the photography prints and card stock I had accumulated over the years.
I was also aware of those folk similarly in lock-down that did not have any internet / access to social media / email or just wanted to write to loved ones using old fashioned pen and paper. To create cards with a flower or view image also helped I think to give a sense of a boost to well-being during this uncertain time (both mine and to those who received the handmade cards).
So within the first day of enforced hibernation, card production commenced. Once I had given some of the early prototypes to my neighbour, my mum who was shielded in isolation and others to try out, I received good feedback on the quality and pressed on with devising new layouts / designs.
Next up was how to show the cards to a wider audience and this website was born.
The Gallery page contains slides of all images used in making cards.
Cards can also be made to order / commissions are welcomed and collection (locally) may be possible by arrangement. Please contact me by email at; stuart@duncanartcraft.co.uk to discuss your requirements.
Cards made are placed into individual cellophane sleeves before posting.
